Allergen & Dietary Information Policy

Clear information to help you make an informed choice when ordering.

Allergy Policy

At Kin Khao Thai, we take food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements seriously. We want customers to have the information they need to make an informed choice when ordering.

Tell Us About Your Allergy

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, you must tell a member of staff when placing your order.

Please do this every time you order, even if you have ordered the same dish from us previously.

Recipes, ingredients and suppliers can change, so previous allergen information should not be relied upon for a new order.

For online or telephone orders, please clearly inform us of the allergy when ordering. If you are unsure whether a dish is suitable, please contact us before placing the order.

Allergen Information

Information about the 14 allergens required to be declared under UK food information law is available for our menu.

Please ask a member of staff if you would like allergen information for a particular dish.

Our staff can check the relevant allergen information and discuss whether a dish can be prepared to accommodate your requirements.

Please do not assume that a dish is free from a particular allergen simply because that allergen is not obvious from the menu description.

Thai cooking frequently uses sauces, pastes, seasonings and other ingredients which may contain allergens that are not immediately apparent.

Gluten-Free Requests

A number of our dishes can be prepared without gluten-containing ingredients by using suitable alternative sauces or ingredients.

Please specifically tell us that you require your dish to be gluten-free when ordering.

Some items, particularly certain starters and other foods prepared in advance, cannot be adapted to be gluten-free.

Our staff can advise you which dishes can be adapted.

Cross-Contamination

Kin Khao operates a working commercial kitchen in which multiple allergens are stored, prepared and cooked.

When we are informed of an allergy, we will take reasonable precautions to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, including appropriate cleaning and handling procedures.

However, because allergens are present within our kitchen, we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from traces of an allergen.

Customers with severe allergies should speak directly to a member of staff before ordering so that we can explain our preparation methods and help them make an informed decision.

Vegetarian & Vegan Dishes

Please tell us if you require a dish to be vegetarian or vegan when ordering.

Some dishes can be adapted by removing or replacing meat, seafood, fish sauce, oyster sauce or other animal-derived ingredients where appropriate.

Not every dish can necessarily be adapted.

Our kitchen also handles meat, seafood and other animal products. Vegetarian and vegan descriptions relate to the ingredients used in the dish and do not mean the food is prepared in a completely separate kitchen environment.

Other Dietary Requirements

If you have another dietary requirement or ingredient you need to avoid, please ask us before ordering.

We will provide the information available to us and will let you know if we are unable to safely accommodate a particular request.

Recipe & Ingredient Changes

Ingredients, brands, recipes and suppliers may occasionally change.

We maintain allergen information based on the ingredients currently being used. Customers with allergies or intolerances should therefore check with us each time they order, rather than relying on information provided during a previous visit or order.

Delivery & Collection Orders

The same allergen procedures apply to dine-in, collection and delivery orders.

When ordering remotely, please make your allergy or intolerance clear when placing the order.

If we need further information before preparing the food, we may contact you. If we cannot confidently establish that an order can be prepared in accordance with the information available to us, we may decline to prepare that item and will discuss alternatives where possible.

Your Responsibility

We will provide accurate allergen information based on the ingredients and information supplied to us by our manufacturers and suppliers.

Customers are responsible for telling us about their allergy, intolerance or dietary requirement before ordering and for asking for further information where needed.

If you are unsure whether a dish is suitable for you, please speak to us before ordering.
